Great-faith is not the power of positive thinking, or away of looking at life through rose-colored glasses. Great-Faith is not blind. Great-faith is realistic faith, acknowledging the challenges, the difficulties, the struggles, and the sufferings of life.
The Christian Faith does not deny the problem or pain in hopes that it will go away, or get better, but rather it takes the adversity to the Lord. The Bible provides us with examples of godly people expressing their deep pain to the Lord, and then trusting him with their trouble (Psalm 3:7, Psalm 22:11-12).
All human beings face adversity in some form or another. The power of adversity can quickly bring even the strongest and most stubborn of us to our knees. Adversity can reduce a person from prosperity to poverty in a moment.
While it isn’t always easy to trust God in times of adversity, we don’t have to fear being honest with God about the pain and the hurt that we feel. He loves us and He cares for us and He wants us to come to Him with ALL our cares and concerns (1 Peter 5:7). That includes how we feelin times of adversity. Believe it or not, God can take our honesty, our questions and our feelings. When we come to God with our pain, He responds by giving us His peace and His strength and He is faithful to lead us through to victory.
