What is the ‘this’ you are looking for Jesus to do? Provide a job? Provide a life partner? Perhaps you desperately want children and you, like Hannah, are crying out to God. Do you believe that the Jesus you serve is able to meet your ‘this’?
The blind men that Jesus encountered had no doubt that the guy they had heard everyone talking about had the ability to heal them. They were convinced that if anyone was able to meet the need they had, it was Jesus.
Is this how you see Jesus? That no matter what need arises, no matter how dark the circumstance and how hopeless it may all seem that your Jesus has the ability to come through for you? Do you believe the Bible when it says that He is able to meet all your needs according to His glorious riches?
The truth is all of us have occasions where we have asked God for something and we haven’t gotten it and that may have coloured how we see Jesus’ ability to meet our needs. But the blind men came to Jesus with one thing: Faith. They were sure of what they hoped for and certain of what they could not see. They believed what they had heard about Jesus and so should we, especially because we have all tasted and seen His goodness towards us. Regardless of the circumstance we can rest assured in the knowledge that Jesus can and will meet whatever “this” we have.
