Sometimes I have a hard time giving up control and when I say sometimes I really mean almost always.
But there is tremendous freedom and blessing in letting go of what we THINK is right or best in our own eyes and fully submitting to Jesus. When we stop trying to gather things here on earth, like this is all there is, when we hold dear the things of this world more than we hold on to Jesus and His word, we end up losing. At the end of the day, all the material things that vie for our attention and that we pursue because it’s something we can “control” only cause us to lose our way. But when we surrender our will to Jesus, when we submit to His will and His way - even when we don’t understand it. Even when we think we know better (and we don’t) and think we can do better (and we can’t),when we turn fully to Christ, His word says that’s when we find our true life in Him. It’s only in Jesus that we truly have all we need and can experience fullness of joy. We lose everything when we try to do it on our own.
