It's not about what you see. That is Faith 101 isn't it? We walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7) and yet, for the most part, the majority of us allow what we see to dictate how we behave and respond.
But what would our lives look like to other believers and especially to people who don't know God if we flipped it back to where it should be? What if instead of doing our own thing and walking by sight, we ACTUALLY walked by faith? And I am not talking about hope - that's not faith. Hope is more the expectation or strong desire for something to happen, but not knowing if it will. You hope you will get the job or the opportunity, but who knows. Faith is more certain than just hope. It is knowing. It is the assurance that it will happen. And it's not faith in yourself it's the unshakeable faith in Jesus Christ. Hebrews 10:23 says "Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful."
What if instead of praying half-hearted prayers, hoping that we catch God on a good day and that he will hear us, we actually believed that he hears us AND that he will answer us? What would our lives look like if instead of walking by what we see, we walked by what God said and who He is? What if we believed, fully and walked fully in what God has said and who He is? That we allow what we say we believe to be fully supported by how we live our lives. Our faith backed up by how we navigate this world... Can you imagine? And if you can... are you inspired to try?
