Do you have a posture of gratitude? Have you learned how to cultivate a spirit of thankfulness in your heart and also in your life? That no matter what you come up against, you can give thanks to the Lord, knowing full well that His love for you endures forever? This is something that I am still learning. It isn't always easy to remember to be thankful in our every day life. We can sometimes get so caught up in living our lives and the many wonderful things that we enjoy like: heat, running water, indoor plumbing, a comfy bed, food in our tummies and our cupboards that they seem less like blessings of our loving Father and more like 'must haves'. They become so ordinary to us that we no longer see them as things to be thankful for.
But they are.
The things that we enjoy in our lives, even the things that seem ordinary are wonderful expressions of God's loving kindness to us and reasons for us to give thanks. It's His love for us that sustains and keeps us through all seasons that we go through in our lives. When we cultivate a posture of thankfulness in times of plenty, we will be able to to be thankful in times when things are in short supply because we are focused on the God whose love for us endure forever. He is good, always and at all times and His love for us endures forever. There is nothing that can or will separate us from that enduring love - not plenty and not lack and that is a reason to always be thankful!
